In September, 2016 I took a special flight to USA from my home in Istanbul, Turkey. I knew there was going to be a layover in Rome, and I had anticipated it was for around 7 or 8 hours. Luck being the way it is for me (haha I don't believe in luck, only destiny...), I had misread the airline itinerary and came to learn that it wasn't 7 hours, but 27 hours! Well this was really a shock for me. However, I made lemonade out of lemons and decided to go to Rome so I took the train from the airport to Termini Station. This is the CENTER of Rome and the pathway to dozens of incredible, beautiful, and historical sites that we all just see in travel brochures and dream about visiting someday...
