How I ended up in Rome for 27 hours on my way to USA in 2016!

In September, 2016 I took a special flight to USA from my home in Istanbul, Turkey. I knew there was going to be a layover in Rome, and I had anticipated it was for around 7 or 8 hours. Luck being the way it is for me (haha I don't believe in luck, only destiny...), I had misread the airline itinerary and came to learn that it wasn't 7 hours, but 27 hours! Well this was really a shock for me. However, I made lemonade out of lemons and decided to go to Rome so I took the train from the airport to Termini Station. This is the CENTER of Rome and the pathway to dozens of incredible, beautiful, and historical sites that we all just see in travel brochures and dream about visiting someday... So, I found a cheap hotel near Termini Station and got a map of the area and started walking. And I walked and walked until I had to go back to the hotel to sleep and then get up the next day to fly to USA after taking the train back to the airport. It wasn't long, but in my short short 27 hours in Rome, I captured some of the most beautiful sites in the city, both famous and obscure. All I had with me was my iPhone 6Plus, and I seriously didn't think I would get anything that good, but I was WRONG! My iPhone was great. I managed to capture some sensational images and this blog is about sharing them with you and the world. Incidentally, I went back to Rome two months after my trip to USA and spent about 3 days, and managed to find the other places I wanted to see but didn't have time during the first 27 hour trip there! Enjoy my pictures... Z
